Kim Bowerman, who has served as an instructional facilitator, has been named the assistant principal at Sonora Middle School. She replaces Jason House who accepted a principal position in Alaska.
“I am very appreciative of the opportunity that Dr. (Superintendent Jim) Rollins, the Administrative Leadership Team and the Springdale School Board have provided me,” Bowerman said. “It is a privilege to continue serving the students, staff, and parents at Sonora Middle School.
“I would also like to thank Dr. Martha Dodson, Jonathan Buchanan and Jason House for their unwavering support and all they have invested in me. I am honored to be a part of the Springdale School District with its rich tradition and dedication to it’s students.”
Bowerman received a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from John Brown University and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.
She has been in education for 12 years with the past six years being at Sonora Middle School in the Literacy Department.
“Mrs. Bowerman currently serves as an instructional facilitator at Sonora Middle School, and she is highly respected and deeply appreciated for the contributions she consistently provides to students and staff of the school,” Rollins said. “She has clearly demonstrated her preparedness to move into the building leadership role, and all concerned are excited to see the contributions that she will continue to make in partnership with her principal and the great teachers of Sonora Middle School.”
