Cara Sedberry, choir director at George Junior High for the past 15 years, has been named assistant principal at the school. She replaces Betsy Barker who was named district assistant athletic director.
“I want to thank Dr. (Superintendent Jim) Rollins, the administrative staff and the school board for the opportunity to build on the great things that are happening at George Junior High,” Sedberry said. “I am excited and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact at George Junior High on a larger scale.”
Sedberry earned her bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Central Arkansas and her Educational Leadership degree from Harding University.
Her first position after graduating from UCA was assistant choir director at Southwest and Central Junior High School. She served in that capacity for four years before moving to George Junior High.
“Cara Sedberry has served our district with distinction for many years,” Rollins said. “She brings energy and a commitment to excellence that will help continue the great work being done at George Junior High. I look forward to seeing the contributions she will make in this new capacity.”
