Heather Tyler is returning to Springdale Public Schools to serve as a district Special Education supervisor.

“I am grateful to Dr. Cleveland, the district leadership team and the Springdale School Board for the opportunity to return to Springdale School District,” Tyler said. “It is an incredible honor to work alongside the talented educators and leaders within the district to support our learners.”

Tyler previously served for two years as a Young Elementary School special education teacher and is returning to Springdale Public Schools after working for four years as a Bentonville School District Special Education coordinator.

“Mrs. Tyler is a welcome addition to our SPED administrative team,” said Dr. Jared Cleveland, Springdale Public Schools superintendent. “Her experience and expertise will benefit our students and staff immensely and will only strengthen an already excellent team.”

Tyler has worked for 10 years as an educator.

“Prior to working in public education, I worked in the preschool day habilitation and home settings supporting individuals with significant and complex needs,” she said.

Tyler is a board-certified behavior analyst who has a master’s degree in applied behavior analysis from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., an education specialist degree in principalship, SPED director certification, a bachelor’s degree in early childhood special education from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and English Speakers of Other Languages endorsement from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

Tyler said she looks forward to supporting students by working within collaborative teams and continuing to build upon the district's inclusive practices as a district Special Education supervisor.

“I intend to leverage my experience in creating and implementing instructional and behavioral support systems to assist both students and district staff,” she said.

Andee Ingram, Springdale Schools Special Education director, said she's excited to welcome Tyler to the SPED team.

"She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in special education, and we are eager to see the amazing contributions she will make in supporting students and staff," Ingram said. "I am confident that Mrs. Tyler will be a wonderful and valuable addition to our amazing special education team."
